Our Story

From Humble Beginnings to Transforming Retail, One Data Point at a Time

Every great idea starts with a problem—and ours was simple: brands and retailers were struggling to see what was really happening on the ground. Promotions weren’t being executed as planned, shelves were often out of stock, and decisions were based on guesswork instead of data. We knew there had to be a better way.

Datafy was born from that need for clarity, accountability, and smarter execution.

It started with a small, passionate team of problem-solvers who believed technology could change the way in-store operations were managed. We didn’t have a big office or fancy tools—just laptops, late nights, and a shared vision: to create a platform that could bring real-time visibility and measurable results to every level of retail execution.

In those early days, we spent countless hours understanding the day-to-day pain points of field teams, merchandisers, sales managers, and brand owners. We listened, tested, and refined until we built something that truly worked—a platform that turned raw, messy data into clean, actionable insights.

We knew we were onto something when our first few clients started seeing real results: faster issue resolution, improved compliance, better shelf availability, and measurable ROI. Word spread. More brands took notice. We grew—but we never lost sight of our original goal.

Today, Datafy is proud to be the first AI-powered retail execution platform of its kind in Africa. We’ve come a long way, but we still operate with the same hands-on approach and deep customer focus that got us here. Our tools are more advanced, our team has grown, and our reach has expanded—but our mission remains unchanged: to bridge the gap between strategy and execution for every brand, everywhere.
We continue to innovate—developing smarter AI models, refining task workflows, and enhancing our incentive engine, KaChing, to keep in-store teams motivated and engaged. What was once a simple idea is now a powerful tool transforming retail operations across regions and industries.
Datafy is proof that a small idea, driven by purpose and passion, can change the way an entire industry works.

We’re proud of where we started, excited about where we’re going, and grateful for every client, partner, and team member who’s joined us on the journey.
